David Baer, Esq. Counsel to GT Crystal Systems, LLC a wholly owned subsidiary of GT Solar Incorporated (gtsolar.com) of Salem, Massachusetts. He joined Crystal Systems, Inc. a sapphire materials producer in March 2008 and it was acquired by GT Solar in July 2010. Prior to joining Crystal Systems, he was a shareholder with the law firm of Ruberto, Israel & Weiner, P.C. from 1997 - 2008 and concentrated his practice in general corporate, business and technology law. Mr. Baer was Chair of the Mergers & Acquisitions Group and has substantial experience in all matters relating to closely held corporations including mergers, acquisitions, shareholder agreements, corporate reorganizations and business succession issues. From 2000 through 2006, Mr. Baer served as Ruberto, Israel & Weiner’s President and Managing Shareholder. He was a Massachusetts Super Lawyer from 2005 through 2010, a peer group determination of the top 5% of lawyers in Massachusetts. Prior to joining Ruberto, Israel & Weiner, P.C., he practiced with the firm of Ardiff & Morse, P.C. for 18 years. Mr. Baer earned his BA degree from Elmira College and his MA and JD degrees from Boston University School of Law. He is a member of the American, Essex and Massachusetts Bar Associations. He has served on the Board of Directors of the North Shore Chamber of Commerce, the North Shore United Way, the North Shore Community College Foundation and is the Founder and past president of the North Shore Technology Council.
